The Spirit of Coquitlam grant supports not-for-profit, community-based organizations that are based-in and serving Coquitlam residents. The intent of the grant is to build community spirit by providing funds for public art, sport activities and programs, festivals and events, sport hosting, capital projects, and new initiatives that align with the City’s strategic goals.
The program is funded from revenue received through the Province of BC’s Host Financial Assistance Agreement, benefiting local governments that host casinos or community gaming centres.
Since 2002, the City of Coquitlam has awarded more than $9.5 million grants to over 240 different community organizations through the Spirit of Coquitlam Grant program.

The next application intake is scheduled to be open September 3 to October 1, 2024.
