[ARCHIVED] Eateries to Score Your Fully-Cooked Holiday Dinner in Coquitlam

Tourism Coquitlam News Flash

COQUITLAM, B.C., Dec. 18, 2020 –  Why not make life a little easier this holiday season? Give yourself a day off from cooking so you can spend more time relaxing with your household and less time washing up pots and pans. We’ve rounded up a list of restaurants in Coquitlam where you can buy a fully-cooked holiday dinner – plus treats – for your holiday and New Years Eve celebrations.

Many local restaurants offer a classic turkey feast, or you may want to explore a new cuisine and taste how the holidays are celebrated outside of Canada. You can dine in, with physical-distancing measures in place, or take-out your dinner to eat in the comfort of your own home. Either way, you’re supporting local and dialling down the time factor that involves prepping for these holiday meals. Cheers to that!

Open on Christmas Day

It’s a year for new traditions. Many of us will be having smaller celebrations this year, and if the size of your at-home bubble doesn’t justify roasting a whole turkey, here are some great excuses to skip straight to the fun part – eating.

Sun Star Restaurant
Specializing in Chinese and Western dishes, there’s something for all tastes at this local favourite. Dine in or take-out – and they’re open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Popular dishes at Sun Star Restaurant include the tried-and-true ginger beef, sweet and sour pork, butter almond chicken, and house special chow mein/fried rice.

Denny's
Denny’s isn’t just for breakfast. Tuck into a traditional turkey dinner with carved turkey breast, stuffing, garlic red-skinned mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce and your choice of broccoli or sweet petite corn, with orders for a group of four. You can stop in to eat or pick up cold to reheat at home. You can also order your choice of a whole pumpkin or pecan pie! Open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Deer Garden Restaurant
This authentic Chinese restaurant is located at Henderson Place Mall in City Centre. For the holidays, Deer Garden Restaurant is offering a special promotion that feeds 4-6 people and includes hot and sour soup, sweet and sour pork, stir-fried vegetables, chicken fried rice and pork chow mein all for $59.99.

Traditional Meals

Whether you’re looking for a Christmas or New Year’s Eve meal, you’ll find your old favourites at the following Coquitlam locations. At some, you can order ahead to have your meal ready for Christmas Day.

ABC Country Restaurant
This is comfort food at its finest. At ABC Country Restaurant Coquitlam, located off Schoolhouse in south Coquitlam, choose from dine-in or take-out that includes turkey or pot roast dinner options. Closed Dec. 25.
