Fall Workshops Offered to Support Community Non-profits

CSRP - Non-Profit Support Wordmark Newsflash

COQUITLAM, B.C., Oct. 4, 2021 – Coquitlam’s Community Volunteer Support program has several workshops planned this fall to support local non-profits.

The program has been supporting Coquitlam non-profit organizations as they work to continue providing services to the community during the pandemic. Since launching earlier this year, the Community Volunteer Support Hub has offered resources such as workshops, support with volunteer recruitment, and funding source information. More information about the program is posted at www.coquitlam.ca/supporthub

Fall Workshops to Support Non-Profits

The Community Volunteer Support Hub is offering the following workshops this fall:

  • Volunteer Management Conference (Livestream) - Oct. 19
  • Scarcity to Abundance: A Roadmap for Not-for-Profit Sustainability - Nov. 4
  • Non-Profits and their Legal Responsibilities - Nov. 16
  • Board Fundamentals: Roles and Responsibilities - Nov. 25

Part of Coquitlam’s Community Support and Recovery Plan

The Community Volunteer Support program is provided through the Coquitlam COVID-19 Community Support and Recovery Plan (CSRP), which is supporting all sectors of the community through the pandemic.

The City launched the multi-phased CSRP to foster targeted immediate and long-term support for businesses, residents and the not-for-profit sector. By early 2022, Coquitlam will have invested close to $4 million in community pandemic relief through the CSRP.

In September 2021, the Union of B.C. Municipalities (UBCM) named Coquitlam’s CSRP as the first recipient of the Presidents Committee Choice award, which provides special recognition to a B.C. community for its outstanding response to the pandemic.

Information about the CSRP is posted at www.coquitlam.ca/csrp.
