Coquitlam Celebrates Canada Day drive-through experience is the City’s one-of-a-kind adapted event. From a live DJ to multicultural and roving entertainment, it’s a community celebration not to be missed! Location: Douglas College – 1250 Pinetree Way (rear surface parking lot)
Event Hours: 12 – 4 p.m.
Set Up Time: Thursday, July 1 between 10 – 11:30 a.m.
Strike Time: Thursday, July 1, after 5 p.m.
Additional Information
Site access will be granted for vehicles during event set up and strike times only to allow for drop off and pick up of event supplies. Group activation areas must be ready for 11:45 a.m.
The advertised event hours are 12 – 4 p.m. Groups must remain active until the last vehicle leaves the drive-through. As we are anticipating 100 vehicles per hour the event schedule may run late, groups are expected to be actively participating onsite until the last vehicle exits. Groups should plan to strike their event area at approximately 5 p.m.
Site access will be granted for vehicles during event set up and strike times to drop off or pick up supplies, an off-site parking space will allotted to you.
Some groups will be required to provide $2 million Liability Insurance, naming the City of Coquitlam as an ‘additional insured’. Event team staff will provide direction whether this is necessary.
Terms and Conditions
- Stay Safe – In accordance with Provincial Health Orders, all participants agree to the event’s COVID-19 safety protocols – which include requiring that all participants wear masks, maintain physical distancing of (minimum) 6 feet, and have their own hand-sanitizer available for personal use.
- Contactless Event - In accordance with Provincial Health Orders, the event will be touch-free, and distribution of any materials or acceptance of donations are not permitted.
- Site Cleanliness – All participants are required to remove any waste or products and leave the event area clean and clear of debris.
- Damages and Waste Removal - The Participant shall, within 10 days of demand from the City, pay all reasonable costs or expenses incurred by the City to repair any damage or remove waste from the Event Area or the Event facilities or equipment caused by the Participant’s use of the Event Area.
- Booth/Designated Event Area – The Participant’s booth or designated event area will be determined by the City and use of the site will be subject to all rules and conditions imposed by the City. Participant placement is the sole discretion of the event organizers.
- Permits/Licenses – All participants are required to obtain all necessary permits, licenses and approvals and to operate in compliance with all rules, bylaws, laws and regulations.
