Online application forms will be available on the web page once the intake period opens.

Get Support with Your Application

A free webinar will be hosted by the Grant Coordinator to help potential applicants understand the grant criteria, application process and requirements, and set them up for success.

  • Date: Wednesday, September 10
  • Time: 7 p.m.
  • Register to attend the webinar

Groups are encouraged to visit coquitlam.ca/SpiritGrant to explore resources that can help answer questions about the program. They can also contact the Grant Coordinator at CommunityGrant@coquitlam.ca or 604-927-3571 to discuss their application.

Investing in Community Spirit Since 2002

Since the program launched, the City has awarded more than $10 million to 275 community groups – helping to bring programs, events and services to life in Coquitlam.

Grants are awarded twice a year and support projects that:

  • Take place in Coquitlam
  • Primarily benefit Coquitlam residents
  • Align with the City’s strategic priorities
  • Are sustainable beyond the grant funding

Applicants must be registered not-for-profits in good standing with the City. Funding is not guaranteed and is based on available funds and evaluation criteria. Priority may be given to groups that have not previously received funding.

Timing for Grant Application and Awards

The City will review grant applications in the fall, with Council approval and announcement of the successful applicants and funding in December 2025.

The spring intake will open February 2026.

We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (HUN-kuh-MEE-num) word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwee-KWET-lum) meaning “Red Fish Up the River”. The City is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm traditional and ancestral lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the q̓ic̓əy̓ (kat-zee), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
