- Hosting an outdoor cultural event, community festival, or fundraiser? Complete the Special Event Application.
- Hosting an outdoor sporting event or tournament? Complete the Outdoor Sports Facility Request Form.

Deadlines: Special Event Application
- Less than 500 attendees, applications must be submitted at least 3 months prior to the event
- More than 500 attendees, applications must be submitted at least 6 months prior to the event

Submitting Special Event Applications within these timelines helps to ensure sufficient time for event planning and the coordination of permits.

The City of Coquitlam has a number of outdoor venues to host an event:
- Blue Mountain Park
- Glen Park
- Mackin Park
- Maillardville Community Centre Plaza
- Mundy Park
- Spirit Square
- Town Centre Park

- Will you be serving food, selling products, or accepting donations? Please submit a Special Event Business License Application Form (PDF).
- Will the event be accessible (PDF)?
- Will you be serving alcohol?
- Will you have gaming or raffles?
- Will you require a Road or Sidewalk closure (PDF)? A Traffic Management Plan (TMP) created by a certified traffic management company must accompany this application.
- Will you be using signs (PDF) to advertise your event?
- Will you have inflatables? Please email us a copy of the inflatable company’s general liability insurance.
- Will you have amusement rides, inflatables, or related devices?
- Will you want a Special Lighting Feature?
Depending on the nature of the event, additional fees may apply including but not limited to liquor service, event support services, business license, food truck inspections or road closure fees.
The following flat rates shall apply for the use of general park areas, sports fields, and Town Centre Park Plaza for each non-sport event, activity or program, excluding Percy Perry Stadium.
The damage deposit will be added. These fees are effective April 1, 2024.

Definitions
- Community: A Coquitlam based non-profit, non-restricted membership group or organization whose activities are consistent with the goals, objectives and standards of the City.
- Private: Any individual or organization which does not meet the requirements of the "Community Organization" or "Commercial" definition.
- Commercial: Any individual, company or organization engaged in the pursuit of business for profit through the use of Parks, Recreation or Cultural Facilities.

The Community Festival Planners Network is an organization made up of festival and event organizers around the Tri-Cities. The group meets a few times per year to discuss challenges, successes and options for collaboration within our festival community.

Concerned about unsafe noise?
The City works with all community organizers who host an event in Coquitlam to ensure they are aware of safe amplified noise levels. If you are concerned an event has exceeded safe noise levels, report your concerns. We will follow up with the event organizers as soon as possible.
