Miranti Aisyah: In Transit

In Transit is a series of photographs taken around public transit in the Lower Mainland, the coastal waters of B.C. and Indonesia. The work is thematically connected through its focus on people within these environments. Although the individuals change, similar moments repeat with commuters waiting, resting or passing through the spaces. People come and go in waves, creating a rhythm that ties the images together. As a whole, the series explores transit as a shared space where many different lives briefly exist together.
About the Artist
Aisyah is a street photographer based in Coquitlam who enjoys playing with colour, space and pattern in her works. She loves roaming around public transit, where she captures most of her photography. Originally from Jakarta, Indonesia, she tries to find some simplicity and solemn moments in her work.
