Coquitlam continues to invest in core transportation and utility infrastructure supporting safety, asset management, economic development. The capital construction projects support growth by improving the movement of people and goods, ensuring reliable sewer and water services and managing stormwater.

The City has selected various crosswalks to upgrade with Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons throughout the City. Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons are installed to improve pedestrian crossing visibility and safety. This year, RRFBs will be installed at the following crosswalks:

To reduce the risk of collisions at intersections, the City will be making improvements at several intersections. These changes typically involve installing protected left-turn signals and restricting right turns on red. The following intersections will be upgraded this year:

The Cedar Drive Project will provide critical utility servicing and DCC works along Cedar Drive in the area east of Burke Mountain Village.
New requirements in Coquitlam’s Frontage Works Program will ensure all new homes built in southwest Coquitlam will contribute to upgrading adjacent streetscapes to a modern urban standard, including curbs, gutters, sidewalks, lighting, landscaping and rear lane improvements.

The City of Coquitlam will be improving Pipeline Road between Guildford Way and David Avenue. Pipeline Road is an arterial street serving Coquitlam City Centre and connecting to Northeast Coquitlam.
The sanitary sewer between Austin Avenue and Rochester Avenue is being upgraded over the next three years.
