[ARCHIVED] Dan Mangan Concert Kicks off Expanded Kaleidoscope Arts Festival

Dan Mangan

Two-time JUNO award winner Dan Mangan is kicking off Coquitlam’s Kaleidoscope Arts Festival with an outdoor concert on Friday, Aug. 19.

COQUITLAM, B.C., June 24, 2022 – Two-time JUNO award winner Dan Mangan is kicking off Coquitlam’s Kaleidoscope Arts Festival with an outdoor concert on Friday, Aug. 19.

Coquitlam’s seventh annual free arts festival returns Aug. 19 to 21 with in-person, drop-in activities at three different City parks: live music Aug. 19 at Town Centre Park; performances and hands-on experiences Aug. 20 at Blue Mountain Park; and family-focused fun Aug. 21 at Victoria Park.

Join Us as a Kaleidoscope Corporate Partner

This vibrant, outdoor festival will be one of the most anticipated events this summer. There are still some corporate partnership opportunities remaining to align your organization with the Tri-Cities’ premier arts festival. Local businesses looking for an opportunity to support a proven, much-loved event and connect directly with Coquitlam’s diverse, engaged community through an engaging on-site presence are encouraged to reach out to our Corporate Partners team. For more information, email corporatepartners@coquitlam.ca or visit www.coquitlam.ca/corporatepartners.

Something for All Ages and Interests

This year’s expanded Kaleidoscope festival offers three different venues and vibes to explore:

  • For a concert experience with food trucks and live music, get into festival mode Aug. 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the updated festival hub at Town Centre Park, 1299 Pinetree Way. Bring your own chairs or blanket and watch headliner Dan Mangan – a world-renowned B.C. indie rocker who has won two JUNOs and listed for two Polaris Music Prizes – and another live act perform on the TD Community Plaza Stage overlooking beautiful Lafarge Lake.
  • Immerse yourself in the arts on Aug. 20, 12 to 4 p.m. at Blue Mountain Park, 975 King Albert Ave. Get creative with hands-on arts activities, watch music and cultural dance performances, browse local art club displays and sample food vendor fare.
  • Enjoy family-focused fun on Aug. 21, 12 to 4 p.m. at Victoria Park, 3435 Victoria Dr. Experience an artful afternoon with live music, storytelling, cultural workshops and creative arts activities. Food vendors will also be on site.

Watch for more details about the events at www.coquitlam.ca/kaleidoscope and the City’s social media channels during July and August, as we provide updates on performers, food trucks, and art activities and other participants.
