COQUITLAM, B.C., November 9, 2023 – Coquitlam’s Lights at Lafarge – Metro Vancouver’s largest free outdoor lights display – returns with new lighting features and a free kick-off event that’s sure to spark your holiday spirit.
Celebrate the Season November 24
Join the celebration on Friday, November 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. with live entertainment on the Town Centre Park Community Plaza stage, including:
- Tunes from DJ Joe Pound;
- Holiday carols from the Coastal Sound Children’s Choir;
- Magic and Comedy from award-winning magician Chris Yuill; and
- The main event –fire performance by NZR Productions.
Come early and stay late to grab a bite to eat from the on-site food vendors serving from 5 to 9 p.m. Foodies can enjoy a variety of delicious options including vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and nut free menu items from the following vendors: Betty’s Greek Honey Ballz, Big Red’s Poutine, Egg Blanket, Gary’s Kettle Corn, Japadog, Mahshiko, Praguery, Rosie’s BBQ and Smokehouse, and Shameless Buns.
Roving Entertainment and Family Activities
Take in the dazzling light displays that encircle the walking loops around the lake, snap a picture with the roving performers and more. Given the time of year, visitors should dress for the weather as they take in the magic.
Activities from our local community arts and culture organizations are a great way for families to create together. Make your own festive decoration with the Evergreen Cultural Centre, make an origami lantern with Place des Arts, or make your own paper light to hang at the Coquitlam Public Library.

Getting to Lights at Lafarge Kickoff Event
While there is some on-site parking at Town Centre Park, the Lights at Lafarge are popular and can get busy. Event-goers are encouraged to walk, carpool or take transit. Use Translink’s Trip Planner or ride the SkyTrain to the Lafarge Lake-Douglas Station for easy access to Town Centre Park. Please note there is no event parking at the Evergreen Cultural Centre.
