The Poirier Community Centre offers something for everyone! We have performing arts, social and educational programs and activities for all ages and families. Check out our Tot Lot on the north side of the building.

BC Vaccine Card Requirements for Recreation Activities
As of Sept. 13, proof of vaccination is required for entry to certain places and programs, as outlined by the provincial government.
Visitors 12 years and older will be required to show their BC Vaccine Card prior to entry at a City facility include:
Events, including recreational programs, with more than 50 people
Sports, weight rooms, gymnasiums, fitness/dance studios (12-21 years exempt if a youth-specific program)
Arenas when being used for adult sport
Indoor ticketed sporting events
Proof of vaccine will not be required at the following:
Recreational activities and programs with less than 50 participants other than those which are considered adult sport, exercise, fitness or dance activities.
Swimming pools (Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex, City Centre Aquatic Complex)
Arenas when not being used for an event or adult sport (Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex, Poirier Forum)
Child- and youth-specific sport and recreation programs
Before and after school programs
Teachers/instructors providing education activities with their students in City facilities
Rehab or exercise therapy programs
For parents, attendants and support people acting in a service capacity
Safety protocols are in place at all City facilities to ensure the safety of program participants and staff.
The Provincial Mask Mandate states that masks are mandatory for all people 5 years and older regardless of vaccination status. Specific to the community recreation setting, masks must be worn in common areas but may be removed during physical activity (sport and exercise).
The following individuals are exempt from mask wearing:
Children under 5
People who are unable to wear a mask due to psychological, behavioural or health condition, or a physical, cognitive or mental impairment
People who cannot remove a mask on their own

Under the City’s Corporate Partners program, Oppy, a Coquitlam-based company supporting food production and distribution throughout North America, will provide a variety of seasonal fresh produce each Wednesday for child and youth recreation programs at Pinetree and Poirier Community Centres.
