The City maintains an Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Infrastructure:
On July 30, 2018, Coquitlam Council approved an update to the Zoning Bylaw to amend provisions for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
On October 29, 2018 an additional amendment was approved to:
Establish a requirement for EV charging infrastructure in new multi-family developments. The requirement, excludes two-family, triplex and fourplex developments, where the required number of parking spaces is less than the number of dwelling units.
Add two new definitions for EV energy management system and EV supply equipment, to provide clarity on these terms.
Please refer to the Zoning Bylaw for more information regarding EV charging parking requirements for new developments.
