COQUITLAM, B.C., July 15, 2024 – Kick back and enjoy some free, family-friendly fun with the return of Coquitlam’s Summer Concert Series, with a spectacular musical line-up for 2024.

Pack a snack or grab a bite onsite on any (or all) of four Friday concerts this summer. The July 19, August 2 and September 6 shows will play at the Town Centre Park Community Plaza, while the August 16 show is set to rock Blue Mountain Park for the first time. The series is sponsored by Corporate Partners including Jim Pattison Subaru Coquitlam, Polygon and Anthem Properties.

2024 Summer Concert Series Lineup Features Four Great Performing Acts

This year’s powerhouse performers will be on stage for two full 45-minute sets each night, hosted by a phenomenal lineup of emcees that will help make your Summer Concert Series experience the best nights of the summer.

Friday, July 19 at Town Centre Park – 7–9 p.m.

  • Big Easy Funk Ensemble: Formed in East Van, the Big Easy Funk Ensemble is a band that pays homage to the rich musical traditions of New Orleans while infusing their own distinct West Coast flavor. Founded on a shared passion for the diverse sounds that have emerged from the heart of Louisiana, the ensemble brings to life the infectious rhythms and soulful melodies that define the New Orleans sound.

Friday, August 2 at Town Centre Park – 7–9 p.m.

  • Dr. StrangeloveKnown as Vancouver’s house band, Dr. Strangelove has been bringing joy to audiences one party song at a time for almost 30 years. You may remember them from The Roxy, where they were a staple on Granville Street for 14 years. They’ve gone on to play from Dubai to Florida, and continue to bring great music and good fun to every event they play.

Friday, August 16 at Blue Mountain Park – 7–9 p.m.

  • Sebastian GaskinIntentionally genre amorphous, Gaskin’s music lends itself to a bold intuition and gut instinct. At once, it conjures the timeless spirit of Bill Withers and the musical virtuosity of John Mayer, with the mischievous wordplay of Post Malone and Pro Era.

Friday, September 6 at Town Centre Park – 7–9 p.m.

  • Said the Whale (headliner): Said The Whale have earned their place in the Canadian music pantheon. They’ve won a Juno Award, topped the alternative radio chart, and amassed a devoted base of fans who affectionately describe themselves as “SaidHeads” — all the while maintaining their resolute independent spirit.
  • Etienne Siew (opening act): Etienne Siew is an alternative folk/roots artist, whose guitar melodies and lyrics paint a picturesque bridge between the beauty in B.C., and the listener. His deeply reflective narratives speak about the resilience and perseverance he has found, while pursuing his dreams as a singer-songwriter.
