Duct banks house distribution cables, which carry power from substations to homes and businesses.
Construction is currently scheduled to mobilize to site October 4 to initiate survey and locates, with work starting in late October. Work is expected to be completed in late Spring 2025. If you have any questions, please contact BC Hydro by email or call 1-866-647-3334.

FortisBC is installing approximately 50 kilometres of new gas pipeline between Squamish and Coquitlam, as well as supporting compressor station infrastructure to supply natural gas to its customer, Woodfibre LNG.
To minimize environmental footprint, most of this new line will run alongside FortisBC’s existing gas line.
FortisBC began construction in the Squamish area in August 2023 and in Coquitlam in early 2024, and anticipates project completion in 2027.
Construction in Coquitlam will include three kilometres of new gas pipeline northwest of Westwood Plateau and installing two new electric-powered compressor units at FortisBC’s existing Eagle Mountain Compressor Station. To support the new compressor units, FortisBC will build a new substation in Eagle Mountain Park that will connect back to its compressor station through approximately 950 metres of new powerlines.
