Services and Resources for Unhoused Individuals

Homelessness is a complex issue that affects many people in our community. While homelessness services are primarily the responsibility of the provincial government, the City of Coquitlam works with local organizations and BC Housing to help connect individuals and families who are unhoused or at risk of homelessness to essential resources, such as shelter and support services. These partnerships aim to ensure that vulnerable residents can access the help they need during difficult times.

Emergency Shelters and Services

  • 3030 Gordon Shelter: Operated by RainCity Housing, 3030 Gordon offers 30 shelter beds (single private rooms) and 12 year-round shelter beds in dorm-style rooms, as well as on-site support services. For more information, visit raincityhousing.org or call 604-474-0435.

  • Tri-Cities Winter Shelter Program: During the colder months, additional shelter spaces are available through a program at various churches in the Tri-Cities, operated by Progressive Housing Society. Walk-ups are not permitted—please call 604-209-1587 to arrange pick-up. Pick-up locations include:
  • Tri-Cities Extreme Weather Response Shelter
Note: Extreme Weather Response Shelter, previously provided at Kyle Centre through BC Housing, will not be open for the 2024-2025 winter season.  A location has not been determined for the 2024/25 winter season. The City, its partners, and the Tri-Cities Housing and Homelessness Task Group are continuing to work with BC Housing to find a location.

 Supported Housing

  • 3030 Gordon Supported Housing: 3030 Gordon offers 30 supported housing units for individuals who are working towards stable, independent living. Support services are available to assist residents during this transition. For more information, visit RainCity Housing or call 604-474-0435.
  • Hope for Freedom Society: Hope for Freedom Society provides drug and alcohol recovery residential programs, counselling, and referral services for those facing homelessness or who are at risk. More information is available at Hope for Freedom Society.

Tri-Cities Homelessness and Housing Task Group (TCHHTG)
