Search & Rescue

Coquitlam Search and Rescue is a volunteer organization serving Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Anmore, Belcarra and Port Moody residents and visitors.

Responsibilities

The team is responsible for inland water and wilderness search and rescue from Indian Arm on the west to Pitt Lake on the east. Coquitlam Search and Rescue also provides assistance to residents during natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes.

Partnerships

The team works closely with:

  • British Columbia Ambulance Services
  • Canadian Armed Forces
  • Coast Guard
  • Local fire departments
  • Police
  • Other agencies

Through mutual aid agreements, as resources permit, Coquitlam Search and Rescue members are available to provide backup assistance to other search and rescue teams. In turn, these other teams can be called into the Tri-Cities area to assist in major operations.

With primary responsibility to Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody residents and visitors, Coquitlam Search and Rescue coverage includes:
