2023 Community Satisfaction Survey Underway
Randomly selected Coquitlam residents may soon receive a phone call (landlines only) or a letter in the mail inviting them to participate in a Community Satisfaction Survey. Please consider taking a few moments to provide this important feedback as the results help inform future corporate planning processes including, for example, budgeting, strategic planning and business planning.
The statistically-valid survey led by Ipsos, a global leader in market research, provides a valuable opportunity for residents to provide feedback on various City services, ranging from protective services to public works, and also provides the City data to measure attitudes on community issues, such as transportation and housing.
Results of the survey will be available here this fall.
Protecting Your Information and Avoiding Scams
Residents wishing to participate in the Community Satisfaction Survey should be vigilant against potential scams or fraudulent attempts claiming to be from the City. While the surveyors acting on behalf of Coquitlam may request demographic information such as age, employment status, income range or residency in order to ensure responses from a representative sample of Coquitlam residents, the City would never solicit banking or request money transfers as part of a survey process. In case of any suspicious communication, please contact 604-927-3918 or email engagement@coquitlam.ca to verify the authenticity of the request.

About the Community Satisfaction Survey
The Ipsos-led statistically-valid Community Satisfaction Survey provides a valuable opportunity for residents to provide feedback on various City services. In 2021 (the last year in which the survey was conducted) 500 randomly selected Coquitlam residents aged 18 years or older were questioned between May 25 and June 11. The data was then weighted to ensure a representative distribution between ages, genders and neighbourhoods that reflects the actual population of the community according to 2016 Census data.
The City has collected citizen views each year on municipal services, priority issues and quality of life through Ipsos since 2003, using the insights to make decisions about planning, budgeting and community priorities. As of 2023, the citywide survey is conducted every two years in order to reduce community engagement fatigue.
