Aquatic activities help contribute to healthy and active citizens by providing exercise and social interactions. Whether you want to swim laps, participate in an Aqua Fit class, or simply relax in the hot tub or sauna, Coquitlam’s aquatic facilities have something for everyone.
Coquitlam’s aquatic services include two indoor facilities: City Centre Aquatic Complex and Poirier Sports and Leisure Complex. In the summer, you can visit our outdoor pools, too.
Coquitlam residents can use the indoor pool at the Bettie Allard YMCA, located in the Burquitlam neighbourhood, at special access times and rates without having to be a YMCA member. To learn more about the specific times and rates, visit Bettie Allard YMCA site.
Swim lessons are also offered - visit YMCA Continuous Swim Lessons for more information.
Find out how the YMCA’s swim levels relate to the Lifesaving Society’s levels that Coquitlam uses, please view our Swimming Lesson Conversion chart (PDF).

Is your child feeling nervous about going swimming at the pool? Reference our Social Story to help them prepare for the experience.
Lesson participants can only be registered for one set of lessons at a time. You may register your child for the next set of lessons at the same level. Your child will be withdrawn from a program(s) if registered for overlapping lessons or lessons at a higher level prior to successfully completing the current level.
