Spotlight on Sport

Initiatives

The Spotlight on Sport initiative was born out of the Coquitlam in Bloom program. Today, it’s an ongoing initiative that aims to:

  • Celebrate sport and inspire our sport community
  • Recognize the positive impact sport associations have in our community
  • Recognize sport volunteers for the great job they do
  • Show appreciation for the sport community’s contributions

The Spotlight on Sport program offers many drop-in activities throughout the year. By participating you can:

  • Discover fun ways to stay active
  • Learn more about Coquitlam’s sports organizations
  • Try new sports to see what you love

Sport Equipment Library Program

Donate your gently used sporting equipment to our Sport Equipment Library program. We’re looking for sport balls, frisbees, jump ropes and more. Bring your items to our Spotlight on Sport donation bin located in the stadium office in Town Centre Park.

Adopt-A-Park Programs

Our Adopt-A-Park programs are for residents of all ages who are interesting in being stewards of our community’s parks including our trails, our pollinators (bees and butterflies), our sports dugouts and benches, and our Little Sports Libraries. Businesses, community organizations, schools, families or individuals can all become volunteers.

Interested in joining our Adopt-A-Park program? Visit the Adopt-A-Park page or email the Park Sparks Program for more information.
