Spotlight on Sport

Initiatives

The Spotlight on Sport initiative was born out of the Coquitlam in Bloom program. Today, it’s an ongoing initiative that aims to:

  • Celebrate sport and inspire our sport community
  • Recognize the positive impact sport associations have in our community
  • Recognize sport volunteers for the great job they do
  • Show appreciation for the sport community’s contributions

The Spotlight on Sport program offers many drop-in activities throughout the year. By participating you can:

  • Discover fun ways to stay active
  • Learn more about Coquitlam’s sports organizations
  • Try new sports to see what you love

Sport Hosts

Our sport hosts enhance the user/visitor experience by providing an available and friendly presence to sport field and facility users.

The Town Centre Stadium is a very popular sporting hub that welcomes a variety of user groups involved in sports like soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, football, and track & field.  The venue also provides a location for special events of all sizes.

Sport Hosts will help create a positive experience for all by answering questions at an information booth, and guiding users through the use of a park map and information sheet. This is a great opportunity to get involved with the Coquitlam Sport Community!

Email the Program Coordinator to get involved.
