This new service is applicable to commercial, institutional, industrial, multi-family and residential and will allow customers to apply, pay and receive their approved plumbing/sprinkler permit packages online. See the step-by-step process below.
Prepare your electronic application by submitting the required documents. Incomplete applications may not be accepted.
Plumbing Contractors applying for a Plumbing Permit for Single Family, Duplex, Coach Home, Renovations or Additions do not require digital drawings. Proceed to item 7 below (Name the documents as follows).
Homeowners applying for a Plumbing Permit will require a digital drawing submitted for review. Proceed to item 1 below.
Once you have completed your application request through our QFile File Transfer, City staff will pre-screen your application to ensure you have submitted all the required documents and drawings. The City will contact you within three to five business days from the time of your application submission with further instructions. Incomplete applications may not be accepted.
Once prescreen has been completed, your submission will enter our permits queue.
Once your application is approved, a Building Clerk will contact you by email with attached invoice and instructions for payment. Refer to the Fees and Charges Bylaw (PDF) for application fees. Pay the permit fee either
In choosing the online payment method, applicants must notify Building Clerks of payment confirmation by replying to the email containing your invoice.
Book inspections through the online Inspection Booking System.
Revisions to a Plumbing, Site Services or Fire Suppression permit must be prepared by the Registered Professional or designer of the initial submission. The individual who prepared the submission must submit the revisions. Refer to the Fees and Charges Bylaw (PDF) for recheck fees.
To make modifications to an issued Plumbing, Site Services or Fire Suppression permit, use the City’s file transfer service, Coquitlam QFile.
Recheck fee is charged for each revision. A Building Clerk will email you a recheck fee invoice and instructions for online payment. Fees must be paid in full to complete the processing of the Plumbing, Site Services or Fire Suppression revisions application.
Inspections may be delayed until the revised permit has been reviewed and accepted.
