COQUITLAM, B.C., April 17, 2024 – Visitors to Coquitlam’s city centre will soon have another community space in their neighbourhood when Town Centre Park Community Centre opens its doors to the public on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
Guests are encouraged to drop-by on Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. or on Sunday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a variety of free family activities, arts and crafts, and a facility tour.
What to Expect
Set on the west side of Lafarge Lake, right next to the Evergreen Cultural Centre, Town Centre Park Community Centre (1207 Pinetree Way) will be a unique community space for Coquitlam. Visitors will be able to hang out, grab a coffee, study, or join an activity or program to learn something new.
The centre will offer programming focused on arts, culture and nature, as well as summer camps and general recreation activities.
Amenities available at Town Centre Park Community Centre include:
- A community living room and lounge space
- Four multi-purpose rooms and two small meeting rooms
- Indoor and outdoor program space
- Outdoor patio
- On-site concession with Praguery Café opening in late-spring 2024
- Universal washrooms
The remodelled centre, previously known as the Innovation Centre, will relieve pressures on nearby civic facilities, in particular Pinetree Community Centre and Glen Pine Pavilion. It will support programming in the popular Town Centre Park in a much more cost-effective way than building a whole new community centre elsewhere in the City Centre neighbourhood.

Register Now for Programs and Activities
While the facility will open May 11, pre-registered spring activities and programs are already viewable in the online recreation registration system.
To browse and register for programs, visit coquitlam.ca/registration and click on the “Sign Me Up” banner. Once in the registration system, filter by location to find all programs happening at Town Centre Park Community Centre.
Look for a variety of one-day ‘try-it’ activities and drop-in opportunities to see what programs will be available at the centre. These low-cost sessions are available during the first week the facility is open, May 11 to 18.

Financial Assistance Available for Recreation
It is now easier than ever to access financial support for Coquitlam’s recreation services. Through the City’s Financial Assistance for Recreation program, qualifying Coquitlam residents will receive 50 free drop-in visits plus a $225 credit they can use for an expanded range of admissions, passes, programs, lessons, exam fees, supplies, rentals and more.
