[ARCHIVED] Recreation Program Registration Delayed to April 8-9

COQUITLAM, B.C., March 23, 2020 – In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the City will be delaying spring recreation program registration to April 8-9.

Spring program registration (for programs running March 28 to June) was scheduled for March 25 at 6 a.m., with phone registration on March 26 at 6 a.m.

Due to the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, online registration has been delayed to April 8 at 6 a.m., with phone registration on April 9 at 6 a.m., for all program areas – including aquatics and general programs.

Currently, all of the City’s facilities, including the recreation centres are closed to the public. Consequently, there will be no in-person registration until further notice.

Program and Class Cancellations

All classes and registered programs will be cancelled until May 2.

  • For registered programs already in progress that started before March 16 and end before May 2, registrants will be issued a pro-rated refund automatically.
  • For registered programs that start after March 28 and end before May 2, registrants will be issued a full refund automatically.
  • For registered programs that start after March 28 but continue after May 2, registrants will be issued a pro-rated refund for any classes cancelled up until May 2.

Please allow up to four weeks for processing.

Updates to program information will be posted to www.coquitlam.ca/covid19 and www.coquitlam.ca/registration, as well as the City’s social media channels.

New Registration System in Effect

The City launched a new registration program this season and residents wanting to register for programs will require a new account. If you have previously registered for programs, booked a room or bought memberships with Coquitlam Parks, Recreation & Culture within the past two years, you will have received an email from communication@perfectmind.com to verify your new account. If you are new to registering with the City, you will need to create an account. Details are at www.coquitlam.ca/registration.

If you have activated your online account since March 4 and wish to withdraw from a program that has not yet begun, you can do so yourself using your PerfectMind account and receive the full amount as a credit on your account to put toward future programs.
