COQUITLAM, B.C., Sept. 16, 2021 – Coquitlam businesses that want to stay in the know can sign up now for the City’s new quarterly email newsletter launching Sept. 28.

The free Coquitlam Business E-News will deliver important City information and news of interest to local businesses in a user-friendly format. Those interested in local Coquitlam business news and information are encouraged to sign up through www.coquitlam.ca/businessnews.

One-stop Shop for Business Info

The City is starting the new service to share news, updates and opportunities directly with local businesses.

The articles will reflect the various City services used by businesses – licensing, bylaws, development services and others – along with news from external agencies and programs such as the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce, Small Business BC, tourism organizations and other levels of government.

Articles will be relevant and concise, with links for those who want to learn more. For local businesses, the E-News will be a simple and convenient way to find out what’s new and to stay up-to-date on changes that affect them.

In addition to the quarterly emails, the City may occasionally issue special editions for time-sensitive information and opportunities. Subscribers may opt out at any time.

Supporting Local Businesses

Coquitlam Business E-News is the latest addition to the City’s efforts to support local businesses.

Supports include the Business LinQ resource centre operating at City Hall Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for drop-in visits, and if desired, a pre-scheduled appointment to ensure availability. This may be scheduled by phone at 604-927-3975 or email at businesslinq@coquitlam.ca. The free service provides information about City programs and services for businesses, requirements for starting and operating a business in Coquitlam, and one-on-one help navigating City permitting and regulatory processes.

A variety of resources and tools can also be found at www.coquitlam.ca/ecdev to help businesses be resilient and stay competitive. For additional information about City supports for businesses, contact the Economic Development Office at economicdevelopment@coquitlam.ca or 604-927-3905.
